Beyond the Yards launches Kickstarter to get to Gridiron Bowl V
The men behind the Beyond the Yards (BTY) video and audio podcast have launched a Kickstarter campaign to help them reach Gridiron Bowl V in Memphis, Tennessee. BTY is a new show that started earlier this summer to bring increased exposure to the Gridiron Developmental Football League.
The GDFL has been around since 2010, but they are just starting to truly get off the ground. Their mission statement says they aim to "bring affordable family entertainment to fans across America," but their ultimate goal is much loftier.
With 41 total teams, the GDFL is striving to become a developmental league for the NFL. In September, the league will host its fifth annual championship game, the Gridiron Bowl.
Behind the scenes, Beyond the Yards has been following the GDFL and their top teams for quite some time. In May, Simeon Hendrix, Andrew Bell, and Scott Hendrix decided to launch the show, hoping to bring increased exposure to the league.
Since then, BTY has aired thirteen podcasts, recently switching over to a video format. To learn more about BTY and to donate to their Kickstarter, follow this link.
